The King got off his mahogany bed
A little inebriated from the previous night, so he rubbed his head
He covered his sleeping queen and planted a kiss on her forehead
He made is way down the hallway and to the large window overlooking the town
He stared yonder for minutes, his face welcoming a frown
His mind wandering fifteen years back,memories of her
He thought about her smile,her laugh;
it was winter would she need some fur?
He wondered how she had been and if she finally found a King
He summoned one of the guards to get the horses so he could do one thing
He wore his golden robe, picked up his sceptre and rode to the hills
He remembered the terrain and admired the serenity
Years back, he rode the same trail it bordered on insanity
Queen M had a princess now and lived by herself
She found a King, went through the darkness but found herself
She saw the King’s white horse and ordered the gates opened
He ran towards her, picked her up and that magical kiss happened
They ate, laughed, shared lots of wine
Now greying, the king was happy she was fine
He held the queen’s hand and asked, “What if you were mine?”
She smiled and whispered, “Wouldn’t that be divine?”
A tear rolled down his left cheek and she wiped it away
They kissed, caressed, and let their bodies find their way
The desire, the passion
The silky sheets, the immersion
Their hands found new places
All over her body, his kisses left traces
The King was up at sunrise as the birds chirped, He kissed her gently on her forehead
and his heart warped
He left a golden bracelet by her side
Got on his horse and rode away fast towards the East side
