Promises

If I say it was the way you said it,

Then I would be lying.

I  believe you will do what you said you will.

It has nothing to do with the tone of your voice,

Or your signature on the paper.

It’s all about the words you uttered,

And my trust in you.

So don’t act as if it was a command,

You made it own your own.

And I will wait until you deliver,

Pressure you to fulfill it.

You said so nicely, winning my heart away.

But unfortunately,

This is a debt now that you owe us

It starts with a word.

And behind the word is the thought of it,

The thought of it beautifully accompanied by the intention,

All this in a word.

That makes it worth believing,

And the words become tangible,

Now you can feel it,

And understand it.

So yes,

I still trust you would do what you said you would,

After all, You promised.
